Job Description:

MID-WEIGHT INTERIOR DESIGNER

Lonika Chande Ltd is a London based interior design studio, specialising in high-end private residential projects. An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a well-rounded mid-weight interior designer, with at least 3 years’ industry experience to join our friendly team.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and creative individual, a team player, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, on a range of projects at any one time. The successful applicant will have strong technical design knowledge, an eye for detail, and a passion for interior design.

This is a full-time role (Monday-Friday) 9am – 5:30pm, based at our Studio in Clapham Old Town. Competitive salary based on experience.

Responsibilities:


• Manage interior architectural design elements and FF&E from concept and design through to invoicing, procurement and installation with oversight from senior team members.
• Create full project budgets and detailed estimates on Estimac.
• Put together design presentations and support the delivery of design presentations to clients.
• Produce schemes and sample boards.
• Produce technical drawing packages in Vectorworks, to include furniture, lighting and electrical plans, elevations, details, and custom joinery.
• Source and procure new and antique FF&E.
• Prepare and manage detailed schedules and specification documents (for example, hard finishes, decorative lighting, sanitaryware, and window treatments).
• Strong communication skills to work confidently with clients, suppliers, contractors and consultants.

Role Requirements:

• A degree or equivalent in Interior Design.
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in the high-end residential sector.
• High level of proficiency in Vectorworks, Estimac, Photoshop and Microsoft Office essential.
• Experience working on all aspects of projects from concept to completion.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and as part of the team.
• Work well under pressure, be able to multi-task and prioritise.
• Excellent design and communicational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications required to liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and consultations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to problem solve quickly.
• Strong organisational skills.
• On-site experience with strong site coordination skills.
• Confident in reading, reviewing and drafting technical drawings packages, including plans, elevations, electrical and lighting design, and custom joinery design.
• Experience in producing comprehensive schedules and detailed specifications for sub-contractors.
• Experience with all elements of FF&E design, specification, management and
procurement.
• Good financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness.
• Extensive supplier knowledge.
• Good knowledge of antiques.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Hand drawing skills a bonus.
• UK residency with willingness to travel to clients within the UK and abroad as required. Ideally based in London – you will be required at our Clapham Old Town studio full time.
